Yahoo Inc. has hired Robertson Barrett as vice president of news and finance. The company said Barrett will work out of its Santa Monica office.
According to Yahoo, Barrett will oversee two of Yahoo’s most important properties, replaceing Mark Walker, who left for Disney a month ago.
Barrett has more than 20 years of experience leading online ventures and as a reporter, including at Tribune Interactive, Time Inc., ABC News, Primedia’s Channel One Interactive and The Feedroom.
Yahoo News Network is No. 1 in the general news category in the U.S., attracting 86.6 million unique users in March.
