Twitter has acquired popular third-party client TweetDeck for an amount between US$40 million to US$50 million, acccording to reports from TechCrunch.
TweetDeck is one of the add-on programs that allows Twitter users view and manage short messages carried by the service, which are known as tweets. It has at least 15 employees and contractors, most of whom are located in the UK, according to its website.
A Twitter spokesman said the company does not comment on rumors. TweetDeck and UberMedia did not immediately reply to requests for comment.
