Groupon Market Share Slides to 48% in North American

Information website Yipit29 polymerization reports that Groupon’s North America market share across 30 major cities dropped from 52% to 48% in May, while its main rival LivingSocial saw market share climbed to 24%, up from 20% a month ago.

According to the report, during the last quarter, sales of Groupon surged by 14 times, but the company has not made a profit yet.

According to a survey conducted by Yipit, there are 345 group buying websites in North America which yielded a total of 133 million dollars in revenue in May. Other three group buying websites included in the top five list in the United States are Travelzoo, and Gilt City.
