Electronic Arts Inc. said hackers recently breached some of its servers and stole customer information.
Hackers broke into servers that ran a forum for its “Neverwinter Nights” game and may have stolen personal data such as passwords, phone numbers and e-mail addresses.
“We immediately took appropriate steps to protect our consumers’ data and launched a thorough ongoing evaluation of the breach,” the company told customers. “We have determined that no credit card data was compromised from the servers, nor did we ever have or store sensitive data like Social Security numbers.”
"We will continue to do what is needed to protect your personal information," the company said on its website.
