AMD have posted their latest earning results and revenue for the first quarter of 2011.
The chip maker announced that its revenue was US$1.61 billion, up 2 percent from the first quarter of last year. Its net income reached $510 million, or $0.68 per share, up from $257 million, or $0.35 per share, a year earlier.
“First quarter operating results were highlighted by strong demand for our first generation of AMD Fusion Accelerated Processing Units,” Thomas Seifert, the company’s chief executive, said in a statement.
Looking toward Q2, AMD is expecting its revenue to be "flat to slightly down" compared to the results of Q1.
