It was reported that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg joined Google’s new social service Google+, with nearly everyone from Forbes to The Daily Mail covering the news.
While many were doubtful that the real Zuckerberg would join a competing social service, tech blogger Robert Scoble texted Zuckerberg himself to confirm, and finally received a reply saying "Why are people so surprised that I’d have a Google account?"
Until now, Zuckerberg has 39 people in his "Circles" composed mostly of Facebook employees, such as its chief technology officer Bret Taylor.
Zuckerberg also has on one of his circles Michael Arrington, founder of technology blog TechCrunch, which reported heavily on the smear drive involving Facebook and Google, regarding one of its tools called Social Circles.
