Starbucks and Apple have joined forces to offer free iOS apps to customers.
Coffee drinkers visiting the shop have been able to download free songs from iTunes for a number of years now as part of the popular Pick of the Week card organized by the two companies. The new app cards can be picked up at the cash register, and have promo codes on the back that can be entered into iTunes to download the free application. A new application will be available each week.
The first application to be offered for free is Shazam Encore, a music-identifying app that sells for $5.99 in the U.S. version of the App Store.
