Netflix Now offering Different Stream Quality Choice

Netflix is now offering several different video stream quality options for those who might face data caps from their broadband provider.

The feature, called simply "Manage Video Quality," is specifically aimed at 3G and 4G users concerned about bumping into the caps on their data plans.

“Good quality” will use up to 0.3 GB per hour, “Better quality uses up to 0.7 GB per hour, and “Best quality” will burn though 1 GB per hour for standard definition an 2.3 GB per hour for high definition. With the lowest quality setting, you may be able to watch a movie or two on your iPad without hitting the highest data cap.
