Electronic Arts Inc.’s chief operating officer has left the company and taken up an executive post at Zynga Inc., according to a report by Reuters, citing sources familiar with the matter.
According to the report, the executive, John Schappert, will join Zynga’s senior management team alongside Chief Executive Mark Pincus, Executive Vice President Owen Van Natta and Chief Financial Officer Dave Wehner. He will head up Zynga’s game division.
A regulatory filing released on Tuesday showed Schappert resigned from EA on Monday. While a spokesman for EA said he couldn’t confirm that Schappert is going to Zynga. Zynga declined to comment on the report.
John Schappert had worked at Electronic Arts for 22 months, and before that at Microsoft Corp for two years.
