Amazon Introduces Trade-In Program

Hot on the heels of T-Mobile’s new trade-in program, Amazon just announced that it’s expanding its trade-in business to include electronics like tablets, phones, cameras, MP3 players, and more.

As with other Amazon.com trade-ins, customers can ship the items for free by printing a label pre-paid by the company. Before shipping their electronics to Amazon, participants in the program have to verify that their product is part of the program and select whether the item is in like-new, good or acceptable condition.

Amazon.com began experimenting with trade-in purchases in early 2009, when the company launched a video-game program.
